Hello all, we’ll be trying to get out a weekly tail maintenance update for those that can volunteer their time during the weekdays but may not be able to help on the weekends. If this is something you would like to help us out with but maybe don’t have the equipment, get in touch with us and we’ll work on supplying the tooling needed.
Moving forward, for the week of 4/21 we have spotted at least 3 trees blocking access (see map below for locations), one large and very dangerous punji stick that needs to be removed as a high priority and a bundle of branches on the edge of the trail on Margaritaville. All the yellow highlighted trails need a leaf blowing/rake (QRT to end of Crazy On You).
I didn’t get a chance to check if the low hanging tree was cleared yet from about the last 100′ before it meets up with Lay Down Sally so if someone can ride that and let us know or head that way and clear it I would appreciate it.
As a general reminder about punji sticks, if you are cleaning anything sticking up from the ground, make sure to cut it as close to the ground as possible, leaving them cut a foot or so above the ground creates a punji stick that people can impale themselves on should they fall there. We’ve had big problem with this near the end of last season so if you see any please let us know or cut it down to the ground.
